The race starts at Plaza Valle de Tena and follows the Fermín Arrudi promenade towards the sports centre. From there, the climb begins towards the Ibonciecho hut.
The route then descends along the Ibontieso track until it reaches the Las Fajas bridge, before returning via the path leading to the La Sarra dam. The race continues along the Vedado de Pocichomuerto path, crossing this area until it reaches Llano de la Facha. From there, it takes the turn-off towards Barzapochera to reach the area around Peña Foratata, the route’s main scenic highlight.
After circling the mountain, the runners will begin the descent towards the Formigal housing estate. The race continues with the climb up to the Fernandico pass to rejoin the Pocichomuerto track. From this point, the final descent towards La Sarra begins, later joining the Santo Cristo path and the Las Sisolas track. The return to Sallent de Gállego follows the Penazuela route until it reaches Plaza Valle de Tena once more.
