Formigal-Route of the Ibones

Tiempo: 3 horas 5 minutos
Desnivel: 547m

Route to the Anayet lakes from Portalet, passing by Ibón de Espelunciecha, Ibón de Garmet and Ibón de la Glera.

This is a comfortable hike, with impressive landscapes full of lakes along the way.  It is a different alternative for reaching the Ibones de Anayet, a classic in the Tena Valley, avoiding the usual route from Corral de las Mulas.

Leaving from the Portalet car park, the route starts towards the Espelunciecha track. After about 15 minutes of climbing, we turn off to the left to see the Ibón de Espelunciecha. We continue up the track until we reach the Collado de Batallero pass, from where we turn off to the right to go in the direction of the Ibones de Anayet. From this point onwards, the path is not very steep and we can see the Ibón de Garmet, first, and the Ibón de la Glera, later.

The route ends at the Ibones de Anayet, where we can take a walk around them and enjoy the views of the Anayet peak and the Midi d'Ossau. The return is along the same path, but once we approach the Batallero pass, we take a different path that goes straight down to the car park, without passing by the Ibón de Espelunciecha.
